Our Mission

‘Working together with the tourism industry, to attract and retain visitors to our community.’

The Organization

Tourism Chilliwack was established in 1998 as part of the Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation (CEPCO). The organization was created to forge a partnership between the City of Chilliwack and the tourism industry, to promote growth and diversification and to increase the economic impact of tourism.  In 2006, Tourism Chilliwack became incorporated, with the City of Chilliwack as its sole shareholder.  We are a non-traditional Destination Marketing Organization (DMO), which has a business function but also conforms to governance policies and undertakes strategic planning. In January of 2012 Tourism Chilliwack was awarded the management agreement for Chilliwack Heritage Park by the city of Chilliwack.

Tourism Chilliwack is led by the following private sector board of directors:

Brian Minter - Minter Gardens, President (Chair)
Nancy Barker - UFV, Instructor, Hospitality Event Planning
Ryan Mulligan - City of Chilliwack, Manager, Civic Facilities
Barb Kemp - Classic on Alexander, Owner
Holly McKeen - Greendale Pottery & Country Guest House, Owner
Dave Schaepe - Sto:lo Research & Resource Management Centre, Director
Amber Short - The Book Man, Owner
Owen Skonberg - Cultus Lake Park Board, Commissionor
Ken Popove - City of Chilliwack, Councillor
Leonard Wiens - Comfort Inn, General Manager
Brian Coombes - Tourism Chilliwack Executive Director

Our Mandate

Tourism Chilliwack operates the Chilliwack Visitor Centre, located at 44150 Luckakuck Way.  Our staff develop, co-ordinate and deliver tourism marketing programs aimed at promoting Chilliwack as a tourist destination and to create a strong and growing tourism industry in the eastern Fraser Valley.  As part of our marketing partners program we operate a number of co-operative marketing initiatives through forming a number of strategic partnerships in the community.  Tourism Chilliwack takes a business approach to generating other revenue streams and in 2008 acquired the Chilliwack Flag Shop franchise.
