10:00 am – 4:00 pm: Gift Shop Open House at the Rotary Interpretive Centre
10:00 – 10:10 am: Welcome & Land Acknowledgement
10:10 – 10:45 am: Drumming & Opening Talk about Salmon Habitat Restoration with Stó:lō Elder Eddie Gardner from Skwah First Nation.
11:00 am – 1:00 pm: “It’s Not Just a Rock” Play Reading by Gracie Kelly & Jay Peachy – a story to acknowledge the importance of Indigenous teachings and our connection to the divine beauty of our natural surroundings.
11:00 am – 1:00 pm: Salmon Life Cycle and GBHNR Habitat Restoration Information Booth with Salmon biologist Matt Foy
1:30 – 3:30 pm: Salmon Leather Workshop, led by Jay Peachy. Discover the fascinating craft of making fish leather and learn about the importance of salmon to the ecology and cultures of the coast in this hands-on workshop! A $25.00 workshop registration fee applies which includes all materials!
