The Fraser Valley Trail ushers birders along on a riverside tour of some of the province’s richest birding regions. Botanica Flower Festival
The story of Botanica Farm is woven with the threads of family heritage and a commitment to nurturing the land. Our familial connection to the property dates back to the early 1990s, when this land became an integral part of our family legacy and back further to the late 1940’s when our Grandparents, refugees who arrived in Canada in 1948 following World War II, made Chilliwack their home. In the subsequent years, our father took over the family farm, focusing on enriching the land and implementing sustainable farming practices. Over the years, adjacent properties were added, and the farm diversified its offerings, cultivating chickens and eggs alongside seasonal crops such as corn, peas, potatoes, hops, and (of course!) bulbs. In 2017, we brought the joy of the flower festival to Greendale, marking the beginning of a cherished tradition. Today, Brian and Jewel, accompanied by their four children, along with Jen, Mike, and their three children, are excited to carry forward the legacy of responsible farming and to continue hosting the Tulip Festival in the picturesque setting of Chilliwack. Bridal Veil Falls
Located east of Chilliwack, Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park is a scenic day-use area. The landscape encompassing the park is characterized by low elevation valleys and lush, rounded mountains. Visitors can enjoy picnicking, hiking, and viewing the spectacular Bridal Veil Falls, which tumbles 60 metres over a smooth rock face, creating a “veil-like” effect.
Cheam Lake Wetlands
Flat trails in and around these wetlands make it easy for all to enjoy. Boardwalks and trails give proximity to sensitive habitat with an abundance of wildlife species, including 184 different bird species. Bikes and dogs are not permitted. Maps and info on site.
Cheam Lake Wetlands Regional Park
Cheam Lake Wetlands is located just east of Chilliwack and is a popular park for bird watching, picnics, and family outings.
Chilliwack Community Forest
The Chilliwack Community Forest is a multi-use trail system for hiking, biking and running. This trail consists of several loops “Pitxel” a beginner level trail loops, Cholqthet a moderate trail loop, the Canyon Loop, as well as a small loop at the top referred to as “broken tree.” Additional trails are always being added through this beautiful old forest. The shorter trail features interpretive signage and resting benches at scenic view points and is less than a 5% average grade, great for families and kids!

Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park is characterized by a valley-bottom lake, old-growth forested slopes, and spectacular subalpine and alpine ridges. The sparkling Chilliwack Lake is ideal for motor-boating, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, or fishing. Forty kilometres of trails provide opportunities for hiking, bird and wildlife viewing, and nature appreciation.

Fraser Valley Mountain Bike Association
The Fraser Valley Mountain Bikers Association (FVMBA) is a registered non-profit, volunteer-run organization whose primary goal is to grow the sport and increase participation in mountain biking in the Fraser Valley. We actively support the development of new trails and maintenance of existing trails to provide a positive experience for a full range of abilities and styles of mountain biking. Island 22 Horse Park
The Island 22 Equestrian Park Society objectives are to provide a safe and inclusive year round riding facility for all equestrians; to have the capacity to offer various equestrian activities such as competitions, camps and educational clinics; and to provide a robust, challenging, and safe cross-country facility to host the Annual BC Horse Trials Competition. There is also picnic facilities, a boat-launch, dog park and bike park.
Island 22 Regional Park
This 132 hectare park in Chilliwack features a boat launch, large parking area for trucks and trailers, bike skills park, dog off-leash area, equestrian facilities and a gatehouse that is staffed in the summer. Island 22 features a day-use area and picnic shelter as well! Parking fees are in effect from the end of June to the end of October.

Lindeman and Greendrop Lakes
The ‘crown jewel’ of Sxótsaqel Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park, this trail is family friendly. Due to the beauty of the lake, this trail can be quite crowded on summer weekends. But the lake itself is a sight to see! Continue beyond the lake to Greendrop, Flora Lake loop (20km, 10hrs). The Greendrop, Flora Lake loop is only suitable for those who are very fit, experienced and well prepared.

Mount Cheam
Mt. Cheam offers one of the finest 360 defree views anywhere in the South Coast of BC. On a clear day you can see all of the way to Vancouver Island and the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. The entire trail is in the sub-alpine and is beautiful from start to finish. The only reason there are not thousands of people here each day is the difficulty of the access road. CAUTION: There are sheer drops near the top. Do not attempt without a high clearance 4×4 vehicle.
Mountain Bike on Vedder Mountain
Vedder Mountain is located in Chilliwack, BC. The mountain is popular with mountain bikers as well as off-road motorcyclists, hikers, trail runners, atv and 4×4 enthusiasts. Vedder Mountain is an active forest with logging, reforestation and recreation uses occurring on a daily basis. Many of the trails here are sanctioned and feature sign posts. Mt. Thom Park
This trail system offers up to two different choices. The “Summit Loop” is wide and well-groomed, leading to an unbelievable view from the top of Mt. Thom. The “Thom Creek” trail is a more ambitious route to the top and back of Promontory. This hike leads to beautiful views of Chilliwack for you to enjoy.

Sardis Park
This 5 hectare (12.28 acre) park (a former gravel pit) has been part of Chilliwack’s park inventory since 1971. The 655 metre outer looping trail allows the visitors to take in the wonderful views and vistas as they participate in outdoor activities. In the past, the pond was stocked with trout for new and seasoned anglers. Many grandfathers in Chilliwack used this pond to help them teach their grandchildren to fish. The pond was also a notable local swimming hole. Usage of the park would explode on hot summer evenings and weekends.
Slesse Memorial
The Slesse Memorial Trail in Chilliwack is steeped in history as the route passes a memorial plaque remembering the victims of one of Canada’s worst aviation disasters. The hiking trail continues up to the base of Mount Slesse, known as the Propeller Cairn, where a piece of one of the propellers from the plane is propped up by rocks next to other artifacts. The view from the Propeller Cairn is incredible as you stand in front of the towering Mount Slesse and can look across the valley to Mount Rexford and the surrounding region. The route up the NE Buttress of Mount Slesse is also a well known mountain climbing destination.
Teapot Hill
The most popular hike in the park! There are interpretive signs and great views of Cultus Lake. Many people leave behind teapots at various parts of the hike, making it a fun game to find as many hidden teapots as you can.
The 10 Trail Challenge
Over the course of 10 weeks, 10 Trail Challenge participants challenge themselves to walk, hike or run local routes or trails and complete related Challenge Activities. Some Challenges include exploring coffee or ice cream shops, others include performing different types of activities or random acts of kindness. It’s even more fun with family and friends! Trail Challenges get people outdoors, exploring some of the most beautiful places, all while supporting local businesses and non-profits. Along the way, participants enjoy a sense of accomplishment, enter to win prizes, receive completion badges online, and see how they rank in online leaderboards.

The Valley Outdoor Association (VOA) was formed in 1973 by a small group of people intent on experiencing and sharing their love for the outdoors. Visitor Centre Fishing Rod Loan
The rod loan program ran by the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC gives travellers access to the tools needed to enjoy the local fishing. Stop by the Chilliwack Visitor Centre to borrow fishing rods and a tackle box. A maximum borrow time of two weeks is allowed. For anyone over 16 a valid fishing license is required which can be bought at the B.C government website. Other fishing resources and important notices are found there as well.
West Coast E-bikes
West Coast E-Bikes Inc. offers electric bike and scooter rentals for exploring Chilliwack at your own pace, with flexible rental windows starting at two hours. This trail consists of several loops “Pitxel” a beginner level trail loops, Cholqthet a moderate trail loop, the Canyon Loop, as well as a small loop at the top referred to as “broken tree.” Additional trails are always being added through this beautiful old forest. The shorter trail features interpretive signage and resting benches at scenic view points and is less than a 5% average grade, great for families and kids!

The Fraser Valley Mountain Bikers Association (FVMBA) is a registered non-profit, volunteer-run organization whose primary goal is to grow the sport and increase participation in mountain biking in the Fraser Valley. Island 22 Horse Park
The Island 22 Equestrian Park Society objectives are to provide a safe and inclusive year round riding facility for all equestrians; to have the capacity to offer various equestrian activities such as competitions, camps and educational clinics; and to provide a robust, challenging, and safe cross-country facility to host the Annual BC Horse Trials Competition. There is also picnic facilities, a boat-launch, dog park and bike park.
Island 22 Regional Park
This 132 hectare park in Chilliwack features a boat launch, large parking area for trucks and trailers, bike skills park, dog off-leash area, equestrian facilities and a gatehouse that is staffed in the summer. Island 22 features a day-use area and picnic shelter as well! Parking fees are in effect from the end of June to the end of October.

Lindeman and Greendrop Lakes
The ‘crown jewel’ of Sxótsaqel Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park, this trail is family friendly. Due to the beauty of the lake, this trail can be quite crowded on summer weekends. But the lake itself is a sight to see! Continue beyond the lake to Greendrop, Flora Lake loop (20km, 10hrs). The Greendrop, Flora Lake loop is only suitable for those who are very fit, experienced and well prepared.

Mount Cheam
Mt. Cheam offers one of the finest 360 defree views anywhere in the South Coast of BC. On a clear day you can see all of the way to Vancouver Island and the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. The entire trail is in the sub-alpine and is beautiful from start to finish. The only reason there are not thousands of people here each day is the difficulty of the access road. CAUTION: There are sheer drops near the top. Do not attempt without a high clearance 4×4 vehicle.
Mountain Bike on Vedder Mountain
Vedder Mountain is located in Chilliwack, BC. The mountain is popular with mountain bikers as well as off-road motorcyclists, hikers, trail runners, atv and 4×4 enthusiasts. Vedder Mountain is an active forest with logging, reforestation and recreation uses occurring on a daily basis. Many of the trails here are sanctioned and feature sign posts. Mt. Thom Park
This trail system offers up to two different choices. The “Summit Loop” is wide and well-groomed, leading to an unbelievable view from the top of Mt. Thom. The “Thom Creek” trail is a more ambitious route to the top and back of Promontory. This hike leads to beautiful views of Chilliwack for you to enjoy.

Sardis Park
This 5 hectare (12.28 acre) park (a former gravel pit) has been part of Chilliwack’s park inventory since 1971. The 655 metre outer looping trail allows the visitors to take in the wonderful views and vistas as they participate in outdoor activities. In the past, the pond was stocked with trout for new and seasoned anglers. Many grandfathers in Chilliwack used this pond to help them teach their grandchildren to fish. The pond was also a notable local swimming hole. Usage of the park would explode on hot summer evenings and weekends.
Slesse Memorial
The Slesse Memorial Trail in Chilliwack is steeped in history as the route passes a memorial plaque remembering the victims of one of Canada’s worst aviation disasters. The hiking trail continues up to the base of Mount Slesse, known as the Propeller Cairn, where a piece of one of the propellers from the plane is propped up by rocks next to other artifacts. The view from the Propeller Cairn is incredible as you stand in front of the towering Mount Slesse and can look across the valley to Mount Rexford and the surrounding region. The route up the NE Buttress of Mount Slesse is also a well known mountain climbing destination.
Teapot Hill
The most popular hike in the park! There are interpretive signs and great views of Cultus Lake. Many people leave behind teapots at various parts of the hike, making it a fun game to find as many hidden teapots as you can.
The 10 Trail Challenge
Over the course of 10 weeks, 10 Trail Challenge participants challenge themselves to walk, hike or run local routes or trails and complete related Challenge Activities. Some Challenges include exploring coffee or ice cream shops, others include performing different types of activities or random acts of kindness. It’s even more fun with family and friends! Trail Challenges get people outdoors, exploring some of the most beautiful places, all while supporting local businesses and non-profits. Along the way, participants enjoy a sense of accomplishment, enter to win prizes, receive completion badges online, and see how they rank in online leaderboards.

Visitor Centre Fishing Rod Loan
The rod loan program ran by the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC gives travellers access to the tools needed to enjoy the local fishing. Stop by the Chilliwack Visitor Centre to borrow fishing rods and a tackle box. A maximum borrow time of two weeks is allowed. For anyone over 16 a valid fishing license is required which can be bought at the B.C government website. Other fishing resources and important notices are found there as well.
