If your perfect getaway includes wide smiles, frame-worthy pictures, and enough fun to guarantee an early bedtime, then Chilliwack’s got your family covered.

With hands-on farms, outdoor play spaces, and family-friendly dining, this is the kind of trip that everyone will love.

Day 1: Planes Overhead, Local Finds & A Cool Escape

Start your day with a front-row seat to the runway at Chilliwack Airport Restaurant (46244 Airport Road), where you can watch planes take off right from your table — a thrill for little ones and adults alike. With hearty traditional breakfasts for parents and kid-friendly options for the youngsters, it’s the perfect place to fuel up before a day of adventure.

Whether you’re about to set off on a trip or just exploring nearby, you’ll find a warm, welcoming atmosphere and home-style cooking that truly comforts. Try the Airport Breakfast (choice of bacon, ham, sausage, or farmers sausage, with two eggs, hash browns, and toast) and don’t forget to ask your server for the Kid’s Menu!

If you’re visiting the weekend of August 17, 2025, be sure to catch Chilliwack’s FREE Airshow at the Chilliwack Flight Festival — an incredible display of aviation that’s fun for all ages. Learn more HERE.

With bellies full, make your way to Klaassen Farms (51211 Chilliwack Central Road), a proud Circle Farm Tour partner, where wide-open spaces are perfect for little ones to explore. While they’re famous for their top-notch blueberries, this is more than just a berry-picking spot — it’s a kid’s paradise.

Say hello to the farm animals, hop on a charming train ride that delights both toddlers and adults, and wander into the U-Pick field (just remember to sign in first!). Before you go, stop by the Farm Store for frozen blueberries and a scoop of their irresistible blueberry ice cream.

You’ve spent a bit of time in the sun, and while the fresh air is so good, it’s the perfect time to cool off.

Head to Chilliwack Landing Spray Park (9145 Corbould Street), a summertime paradise for little ones. With 16 playful water features and 24 ground sprays, kids will be squealing with joy as they dash through fountains and streams. The highlight is the “Big Top Soaker,” a giant bucket that dumps 170 litres of water in one thrilling splash — pure delight for toddlers and big kids alike. Plus, it’s right by washrooms, playgrounds, and picnic tables, so parents can easily relax while the fun unfolds.

Before you go to the spray park, stop by Hofstede’s Country Barn (45796 Luckakuck Way), another proud partner of the Circle Farm Tour, to pack the perfect picnic. Pick up juicy local fruits, fresh sandwiches, and maybe a few treats from their famous candy wall. Then settle in at the park, let the kids splash to their hearts’ content, and enjoy a relaxed outdoor lunch together. It’s a simple, joy-filled afternoon that’s sure to be a highlight of your trip.

By now, everyone’s likely ready for a little downtime. Head back to your hotel or campsite to rest up, then get ready for a dinner that feels like a treat for the whole family.

Make your way to District Bar & Restaurant (6-45555 Market Way) in Garrison Village — a spot that’s effortlessly classy yet comfortably casual, with food that’s every bit as delicious as the atmosphere is welcoming. Their patio lets you soak up the evening air while you unwind and reflect on the day.

Order the Salmon & Rice Bowl, a vibrant dish with sockeye salmon, jasmine rice, szechuan soy reduction, pomegranate, avocado, radish, mixed greens, house pickles, spicy aioli, sesame seeds, and cilantro — or try it plant-based with crispy tofu and vegan tahini aioli.

The kids will love their crispy Chicken Tenders and Fries, and District Bar & Restaurant is known for going the extra mile to make meals special for little ones. (A Shirley Temple is always a fun choice!)Top it off by sharing their famous S’more Brownie — a smoked Callebaut chocolate brownie layered with toasted marshmallow, graham crust, salted caramel, and a scoop of vanilla gelato. It’s the perfect, joy-filled ending to a day well spent together.

Day 2: Acres of Fun and Trail Time

After a good night’s rest, kick off your final morning with a hearty breakfast at Cookies Grill (3A-44335 Yale Road), a long-time Chilliwack favourite known for its homestyle cooking and generous plates. Voted Chilliwack’s best breakfast and proudly family-run for over 22 years, this spot is all about good food, big smiles, and a welcoming atmosphere that feels just like home.

Try the Ploughman’s Skillet — six pan-fried potato and cheddar perogies with farmer sausage, bacon, onion, cheddar, topped with two eggs any style, green onion, and sour cream. Pair it with their playful Iced Coffee Flight, featuring four iced latte flavours to sample. For the kiddos, the JR. Breakfast is perfect with an egg, bacon, sausage, and their choice of pancakes or breakfast potatoes.

Next, get ready for the ultimate summer adventure at Greendale Acres Farm (41905 West Yale Road)! This is the place to celebrate the corn harvest, famous for its world-class Chilliwack Corn Maze — featuring both a short and a long maze, each carved into an all-new, intricate design every year. It’s pure magic for kids and the young at heart, with endless play zones, farmyard fun, jumping pillows, a bubble bar, and a charming train that takes you on a ride around the farm.

Plan to arrive right at opening to beat the crowds and enjoy the cool morning breeze. Even better, come August 2–4, 2025, and join the excitement at their Sweet Corn Festival, kicking off the season in the best way possible. Plus, all summer long, live music fills the air, adding even more buzz to this unforgettable farm experience.

And don’t miss the concession — from roasted corn on the cob to fresh corn salsa with tortilla chips and plenty of other tasty treats, there’s no better way to savour the season. This is one stop you absolutely can’t miss. Book your tickets HERE.

When dinner rolls around, you’re in for another win-win. Set on a working farm in a rustic, barn-style brewery, Farmhouse Brewing Co. (6385 Lickman Road) serves up fresh, flavourful dishes in a welcoming space that’s perfect for families. Kids will love the play area (just remember, adult supervision is required at all times), while parents can kick back and soak in the amazing outdoor patio views of the countryside and mountain-studded valley. Even better — it’s pet-friendly, so the whole crew can come along.

Order the Speck & Ricotta Thin Crust Pizza, baked to golden perfection in their wood-fired oven, or go for a charcuterie board to share. For the adults, the Greendale Golden Ale* is a must — easy-drinking, with a hint of malty sweetness and bright Comet hops grown just down the road in Greendale, B.C.

*Please drink responsibly.

If there’s still a bit of energy to burn in the early evening, head out for a relaxed stroll along the Experience The Fraser Trail (Canyon to Coast Trail). This flat, stroller-friendly path is perfect for little ones on bikes or families wanting an easy nature walk without the hills. It’s a peaceful way to wind down the day, taking in beautiful sunset views along the Fraser River before bedtime. Learn more HERE.
