August is here, and that means summer is kicking into high gear and Chilliwack is where you’ll want to be!! With an event, celebration, festival, or fair almost every weekend this month here in Chilliwack, you’re sure to find something to keep you (or your kiddos) entertained!
Check out this list of events happening throughout the month of August in Chilliwack, and let the adventures and memory-making begin!
Chilliwack Mural Festival
DATES: August 10 – 12

The Chilliwack Mural Festival is a bright highlight of our downtown, and a popular part of Chilliwack’s culture. Taking place this year on the weekend of August 10,11, and 12 the mural festival is located in our District 1881 and surrounding downtown area. It draws a variety of local B.C and global artists who share their respective style and world perspectives with us.
This year’s events range from street art and live music, to conversations about Stó:lō art and community. To view the full schedule and lineup, click HERE

151st Annual Chilliwack Fair
DATES: August 11 – 13
LOCATION: Heritage Park MAIN GATE 1 (44140 Luckakuck Way, Chilliwack, BC).

For those of you who have been alive for 151 years, you’ll remember the very first Chilliwack fair back in 1873. For the rest of us who haven’t been around quite that long, and are experiencing the annual fair for the first time this year, you are in for a treat!
Events this year will include something unique for every member of the family, including face painting, foam parties, parkour courses, carnival games, and pony rides for the little ones; along with food vendors, rough stock, BCRA Rodeo, and marketplace vendors for the rest of the family to enjoy.
But that’s not all! Country music superstar JoJo Mason will be hitting the stage on August 11th to get the party started, and live rock and country music will be found all weekend long for those that want to get their dance on.

STIHL Timbersports National Championships
DATES: August 12 – 13
LOCATION: Chilliwack Coliseum 45323 Hodgins Ave, Chilliwack

On August 12th and 13th, get ready to experience the thrill of the STIHL Timbersports National Championships. Hosted at the Chilliwack Coliseum, this event sees top timber athletes from around the world compete in events such as: Springboard, STIHL Stock saw, Underhand chop, Single buck, Standing block chop, and Hot saw.

Greendale Acres Corn Maze Kick-Off Party
DATES: August 12
LOCATION: 41905 Yale Rd West, Chilliwack, Canada, V2R 4J4
It’s that time of year again here in Chilliwack… corn season!! Greendale Acres will be opening to the public starting Thursday, August 10th. To start their 25th season off right, they will be hosting their 25-Year Corn Maze Kick-Off Concert featuring Tanner Olsen Ban on August 12th. The concert starts at 5:30 pm with opening acts Geoff Moore and Tony Stevens, followed by Tanner Olsen Band from 8-10 pm. Bring your whole family and grab a blanket and enjoy the show! This all-ages event will be fully licensed.
Chilliwack Flight Fest
DATES: August 20th (Hanger Dance on August 19th)

What’s better than a good time? A great time, that also happens to have FREE admission. On August 20th, take a trip to the Chilliwack Airport for the 29th annual Chilliwack Flight Fest!
This year there will be new and returning performances, seeing the likes of a P-40E Kittyhawk, Yellow Thunder (a 2-team altitude-unrestricted acrobatics team), and Roy Hafeli (a well-known west coast air show narrator). The full schedule of performers can be found here. The Chilliwack Flight Fest will be taking place on the weekend of August 19th and 20th at the Chilliwack Airport. With food vendors and exciting aerobatic performances, the day of, and a Hanger Dance (19+) the night before where local artist “The Vacationers” will be playing for a $25 per person cover fee the Chilliwack Flight Fest is a must-add to your summer bucket list!

Get ready to celebrate! The 2023 Chilliwack Pride Festival – RAINBOW VALLEY is taking over Downtown Chilliwack on August 19th from 10 am to 4 pm! Enjoy a safe, accessible, car-free zone with local vendors, service providers, family-friendly activities and games, and FIVE of the very best Drag performers from across the Fraser Valley!
Don’t forget to stop by the Tourism Ch’illiwack booth, and shop Pride our merch (proceeds going to the Chilliwack Pride Society). Plus, our amazing summer students will be there ready to share their knowledge on all the fun places to check out in Chilliwack!
